RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
All drivers must be at least 21 years old, and have a valid driver’s license which was issued at least one year ago.
All European drivers’ licenses are accepted. For some countries outside the EU, an International driver’s license may be required. Please check with your local authorities to confirm if there is a special agreement between Greece and your country regarding the validity of the driver license in Greece. Most driver licenses with Latin characters are accepted (for example USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand etc).
DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES
The car is allowed to be driven only by the drivers listed in the rental contract. If there is an accident and someone other than those written on the rental contract was driving, then the renter has full responsibility for the repair of damages to the car without the limitation of the deductible or excess.
The renter is responsible to return the car in the same condition it was received, with all the tools, wheels and accessories intact.
The driver is responsible for returning the car at a specific place date and time as written on the contract. If the renter delays the return of the car or returns it at a different location there will be additional charges.
If the renter wishes to change the time or place of return, he must inform the company 24 hours in advance. For periods during High Season, it is possible that the car has been reserved in advance, and the company may not be able to extend the rental period.
KRITI PLUS is not obliged to offer any refund should the car be returned early by the renter.
FUEL CHARGES
The renter is responsible for the cost of the fuel used during the rental.
The car must be returned with the same amount of fuel it was supplied with.
Any extra fuel that is in the tank at the time of return is non-refundable to the renter
INSURANCE
The car is allowed to be driven only by the drivers listed in the rental contract. If there is an accident and someone other than those written on the rental contract was driving, then the renter has full responsibility for the repair of damages to the car without the limitation of the deductible or excess.
All insurance as listed below, will be invalidated if the driver is found to be under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.
All KRITI PLUS cars have third party insurance. In case of an accident where our renter is at fault he has no liability towards damage repair to any other vehicles involved but he has liability for the cost of repairs to the car rented from Kriti Plus.
Full insurance is available to renters over the age of 23. In this case the renter who is involved in an accident and who is deemed to be at fault, has maximum responsibility (excess or deductible) of the amount between 500 – 1500 Euros (depending on the model of the car rented) plus VAT tax, for repairs of damages caused by the accident to the rented vehicle.
A credit card is required for security purposes.
Full insurance is NOT available to drivers under the age of 23.
EXTRA INSURANCE is available for purchase to drivers over the age of 23 and for rentals over 7 days. In this case, the customer may choose to reduce the excess/deductible to half of the original amount or to zero excess. You may inquire as to the cost of this extra insurance directly from our site.
Damages underneath the car or to the tires and wheels, are not covered by any insurance. Cars are not to be driven in off- road conditions.
In order to be covered, renter must comply with the regulations set out in the rental contract and follow the driving code of Greece with particular reference of the restrictions of the consumption of alcohol and the use of illegal drugs.
The insurance will also be invalidated if the renter drives the car off road, on the beach or in the mountains or any other area that does not have a properly laid down road surface. In the event that the car has been driven in any of these places or in any other area unsuitable for driving then any damage to any part of the car will be the total responsibility of the renter. Internal damage to the car by the renter or any other person is NOT covered by the insurance.
Fire Insurance – The cars are insured against accidental fire, not caused due to driver negligence, with an excess the amount written on the rental contract.
Theft Insurance – The cars are insured against theft with an excess the amount written on the rental contract. Personal belongings left in the car are not covered.
Tire damage and damages underneath the car are full responsibility of the driver.
PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE
The insurance covers medical costs and accidental death for the renter and the passengers in the event of an accident during the rental period. The renter is responsible for damages or claims exceeding the insurance coverage.
TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS
- The renter is responsible for all traffic penalties that occur during the rental period and must pay the violation before returning the car. The renter must submit to our office a copy of the receipt of payment of the violation.
- The payment of traffic or parking violations will be requested from the renter even after the period of rental has expired if our company receives notice of an unpaid traffic ticket.
TRANSPORT BY BOAT
Transport of our cars to other parts of Greece by boat is prohibited unless there is prior written permission provided by the rental company.
